Attendance Procedures
Tardy
Students who arrive late to school must report directly to the counseling/attendance office to sign in. Students are expected to be in class to begin work when the bell tone sounds at 7:25 a.m.
Attendance
Please remember to call us if your child is going to be absent. We need the information on the day of the absence. To report an absence, call (248) 726-5010.
This is a 24-hour answering machine. The following information must be left on the answering machine.
- Student's first and last name (spelled out)
- Parent name, if different from student's last name
- Day and date of absence
- Reason for absence
If your student is arriving late, needs an early dismissal, or you are requesting homework, you should call the regular school number at (248) 726-5000.
All absence calls are for one day only unless you specify otherwise. We suggest that you call as early as possible. Many telephone calls come in between 7:00 and 7:45 a.m.
We do not accept calls or notes from students. Students who are "excused absent" should see each teacher upon returning to receive missed assignments. It is the student's responsibility to make up the work.
You may also report the absence through the ParentVUE app.
Drop-off/Pick-up Procedures
Safety of our students and staff is a priority for us not only within the building, but on our campus as well. Please be cautious when driving in the loop and look for children using the crosswalk.
In cooperation with our police liaison, we ask that you follow the guidelines listed below:
- Please Slow Down- Your speed in the loop should not exceed 10 m.p.h. This is true for both the drop off and passing lane.
- Be Attentive- All drivers should be attentive and refrain from the use of cell phones or other distractions.
- Do Not - Please do not let students out of the car in the passing lane, to cross in front of cars in the drop-off lane.
- Be Cautious- Drivers must always stop for pedestrians. Pedestrians have the right of way.
- Be Aware- Stop at the crosswalk and look for staff or students who may be crossing
